Open the terminal session in your emulator. You should see the router's command-line interface (CLI). If the router is booting, you can often press Ctrl-C to interrupt startup and access configuration options . From here, you can view or modify router settings, set passwords, or configure network interfaces.

Step 5: Optional Network Connection

Once the router is configured, you can connect it to the terminal box or ONT using an Ethernet cable for internet access or network integration. This allows the router to provide services such as Wi-Fi, VLANs, or QoS management .

Tips for Secure and Reliable Connection
  • Only expose the console port during active configuration to prevent environmental damage .
  • Ensure terminal software settings match the router's console parameters to avoid communication errors .
